Serving Adult Individuals, Couples, Groups and Therapists
in-person in the San Francisco Bay Area and by phone and video for California residents.

I'm Judy Noddin, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the Piedmont Avenue area of Oakland, California, passionate about helping people heal from trauma, anxiety and depression, and thrive through creative expression.

No matter what your struggles are, you are not alone and it can get better. Together, we will build a safe, supportive, therapeutic relationship that will enable you to feel seen, nurtured, and empowered. It is my belief that you are a miracle of the universe and just by the fact of your birth onto this planet, you are entitled to love, compassion, healing and belonging.

I utilize a variety of therapeutic methods including Trauma-Informed

Internal Family Systems (IFS), Intimacy From the Inside Out (IFIO)Somatic Attachment Therapy and Drama and Expressive Arts Therapies.

We are living in a challenging time of great uncertainty and also great possibility for growth, healing, and change.  If you are experiencing feelings of overwhelm, anxiety, or depression you are not alone.

Therapy is a place where you can bring all of your stress and fears and be held with compassion and understanding.  In therapy, you can also learn valuable coping skills and identify internal and external resources you can draw on.

Now, more than ever, we need the comfort and care of one another and the healing and resilience provided by resources such as nature, silence and stillness, self-expression, creativity and supportive community.

"We do not have to transform ourselves into something grand and beautiful.  We only have to be kind to ourselves: to love and treasure ourselves as we are."                                                                                                                                          -Anne Lamott

Some signs that indicate therapy could be helpful to you:

  • You are feeling overwhelmed and your usual coping strategies are no longer working or aren’t enough.

  • You are feeling that your “well” is empty, you don’t have relationships and/or regular practices that nurture and nourish you.

  • Perhaps you have a constant buzz of anxiety or fear in your body and have difficulty relaxing, feeling safe and accessing a sense a well being.

  • You may be feeling worn out, worn down and don’t know what to do to get your energy and sense of aliveness back.

  • Maybe in addition to these challenges you also feel bad about yourself; that there is something wrong with you. Or you feel frustrated that you can’t just “get it together.”

At Garden Heart Counseling and Healing Arts, I take a holistic approach to wellness; treating mind, body, and spirit using the power of Internal Family Systems (IFS), mindfulness, expressive arts, drama therapy, and somatic attachment therapy.

you have come to the right place.

Through our work together, you can learn to regulate your emotions, decrease anxiety, increase stress management skills, process trauma, connect to the present moment, increase cognitive flexibility, cultivate creativity, and regain a sense of well-being and aliveness.

I welcome people of all gender identities, races, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations, religions, and body sizes into my practice.

"The most precious gift we can offer anyone is our attention.

When mindfulness embraces those we love, they will blossom like flowers."
